The creative process people go through to create a big idea is something that is unique to everyone and is completely personal. Ideas can be sprung from something so simple it is almost as if they come from nothing, however lead to something life changing. The documentary 'From Nothing, Something' features famous creators of various fields talking about their creative processes and where some of their ideas come from. The documentary motivated me and showed me that nothing is impossible, the journey to get there may be long and hard but it isn't impossible. One of the creators that inspired me the most was the Emmy nominated choreographer, Keith Young. Young was inspiring to me because of the different approaches and perspectives he took to his work. He takes a nomothetic approach to his work, aiming to impact all types of people, which is something I struggle with and think is a hard task but is something that, being an FCP student, I must do. Watching this documentary has also helped me when working as a team. It has allowed me to understand that everyone has a different way of creating and coming up with their ideas, for some it takes longer than others and that you shouldn't feel pressured if an idea isn't working or isn't right for that project.

The documentary featured a main theme of authenticity, in my opinion. It showed being yourself and staying true to your passions and personality allows you to progress and succeed within your creative career. This is something that I will take with me in the future and hopefully show/develop during my time as an NTU Fashion Communication student.
