As an FCP student at NTU I was lucky enough to have access to the first few issues of i-D magazine, seeing the development of the magazine from black and white with coloured accents to full colour issues. It was interesting to see how adverts in the magazine have developed and the content of the early issues. Another interesting thing I noticed was the development of the magazine from landscape to portrait. A landscape magazine was not something I have seen a lot of so it was interesting to see how they had used the layout. It was clear the great development of i-D from a zine to a magazine, showing me the potential of my zine creations and the condensing of content in a zine compared to a magazine. This has inspired me to be more creative and less explanative in my zine creation. Here are some of the snaps I took from my experience looking at the i-D archives:
